Shipping Policy

🚚 Shipping & Logistics Policy

AG Fruit Vegetables is committed to delivering farm-fresh produce globally with maximum freshness and quality preserved. Our bulk export shipping policy is designed to ensure a seamless and reliable cold chain from our facility in Chennai to your designated port.

1. Transportation & Cold Chain Management

Given the perishable nature of our products, all shipments adhere to strict cold chain protocols.

  • Mode of Transport: Products are primarily shipped via Sea Freight (Reefer Containers) or Air Freight (Temperature-Controlled Cargo), as determined by the order size, destination, urgency, and product-specific requirements.
  • Temperature Control: We utilize modern Refrigerated Containers (Reefers) for all sea shipments. The precise temperature and humidity settings are set as per the international standards for the specific fruit or vegetable being shipped (e.g., bananas, mangoes, onions, etc.) to maximize shelf life.
  • Pre-Shipment Inspection: All containers are subjected to a Pre-Trip Inspection (PTI) to ensure the cooling unit is fully operational before loading.
  • Loading & Handling: Our packing and loading team follows meticulous handling procedures to prevent physical damage and ensure optimal air circulation within the container.

2. Quality Assurance and Packaging

  • Export-Grade Packaging: All produce is packed in high-quality, export-grade, ventilated cartons or crates suitable for long-haul transport.
  • Pre-Cooling: Produce is immediately pre-cooled after harvest and packing to remove field heat, a critical step in preserving freshness before loading into the shipping container.
  • Phytosanitary Certification: Every consignment is accompanied by a mandatory Phytosanitary Certificate, issued by the relevant Indian government authority (such as NPPO or APEDA-authorized agencies), certifying that the produce is inspected, free from pests, and complies with the importing country’s regulations.

3. Dispatch, Delivery, and Risk

  • Delivery Terms (Incoterms): All bulk supply is typically quoted and supplied based on internationally recognized Incoterms (e.g., FOB, CFR, or CIF). The specific Incoterm will be clearly defined and agreed upon in the final Purchase Order (PO) and Proforma Invoice (PI).
  • Lead Time: The dispatch timeline is agreed upon during the contract finalization and is dependent on the product type, seasonality, port scheduling, and quantity.
  • Risk of Loss: In international shipping, the point at which the risk of loss is transferred from AG Fruit Vegetables to the buyer is defined by the agreed-upon Incoterm.
    • Example (FOB): The risk transfers to the buyer once the goods are loaded on board the vessel at the port of shipment.

4. Documentation & Clearance

AG Fruit Vegetables handles all necessary export documentation from the Indian side to facilitate smooth customs clearance:

  • Commercial Invoice
  • Packing List
  • Bill of Lading (B/L) or Airway Bill (AWB)
  • Certificate of Origin
  • Phytosanitary Certificate
  • Quality/Health Certificates (as required by the destination country)

5. Packing and Forwarding (P&F) Charges

In line with our Terms & Conditions:

Packing and Forwarding (P&F) costs are extra on actuals and are not included in the primary product price. These costs will be calculated and specified in the final invoice prior to the final balance payment and dispatch.
